About me- Thanks for asking…
I graduated from high school with the Honors Class in English, Calculus, and Physics while working full-time and competing in martial arts tournaments. I was headed for a career in Law enforcement when circumstances changed and life happened.
I’ve had an eclectic work history. My job titles included security guard, fireman, driving instructor, bail enforcement agent, volunteer baseball coach, tile setter, dispatcher, electrician, bouncer, carpenter, firearms instructor, donut seller, collection agent, and manager. Obviously, some of these overlapped. I almost forgot- at age 16, I was a high-temperature hazardous material technician (I worked the fryer at Carl’s Jr.)

When I took a job in a warehouse for a Fortune 500 company, I worked my way up the ladder into management and have been a manager for over two decades. I also ran a youth baseball league on the side for eight years, holding almost every position they had to offer.
I have been told I am a good communicator and have a way with words. So, as the company and market changed over the last several years, I decided to get back to writing and joined the American Writers and Artist Institute. I have completed several courses while still managing a showroom and warehouse, and I plan on taking many more classes.
I’m an organized problem solver with excellent attention to detail. I am adept at making people understand. I have a thirst for knowledge, a head for trivia, and I am always looking for ways to improve. I’ve been called analytical, witty, and honest, with a knack for objective thinking and finding odd possibilities in the strangest of circumstances. People marvel at my MacGyver skills.
I over-tip my servers, return my shopping carts, use my turn signals, and recycle where possible. I have a playlist for every occasion and can find humor in almost any situation. I enjoy old movies, Sharks hockey, archery, American history, NASCAR, shooting, museum art, swords, a good baseball game, coins, knives, watches, golf, documentaries, and kung fu.
And if that kaleidoscope of my life wasn’t enough, here are a few more topics I have researched or experienced or both: Buddhism, sailing, tinnitus, honey, skin cancer and hats, a motorcycle wreck and hospital stay, meditation, kidney stones, long commutes, sleep disorders, backpacking, construction substrates and setting materials, writing, and chiropractic care.
What’s next- Now I’m transitioning out of the corporate world into full-time writing- copy, content, and some stories too.
What can I write for you?
Construction/Sales- For over two decades I’ve run warehouses and showrooms supplying the construction industry for one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors. I’ve dealt with suppliers, employees, customers, contractors, products and equipment- and all of the challenges they bring from human resources to forklift damage to shipping issues to installation inspections.
Martial Arts- I started in the fourth grade and have since studied seven different styles, competed in tournaments, and lived my life by a code of honor. I have applied those principles and skills throughout my life in parenting, emergency response, security work, the corporate world, and even managing youth baseball teams and a league.
Weapons and survival- I was a kid with a pellet gun and a Swiss Army knife; now my knowledge of guns has led me to become an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor- preaching safety and security while dispelling myths and stigmas. I’ve also made it a mission to find the ideal knife for survival and everyday carry- this has led to a widespread collection of edged weapons and experience in their uses.
